 (4 Days / 3 Nights)

Amazon Cruise in Iquitos

Iquitos is the northern gateway to the Peruvian Amazon basin, a rare outpost of civilization smack among almighty rivers and endless forests. Historic houses still faced with the beautiful glazed tiles imported from Portugal along many other European luxury goods give evidence of the wealth created during the 'rubber boom' of the 1860's. Take a last peek to the deeds of modernity on your way to the pier and then join a handful of modern explorers (like yourself) on a luxury cruise into the entrails of the Amazon jungle. Outside, pink dolphins, troops of monkeys, screeching macaws, and a plethora of plants and flowers striving in a restless scenario. Inside, high quality cotton sheets, organic amenities, pieces of artwork, panoramic windows, and delectable cuisine. Peace and relaxation.

 (2 Days / 1 Night)

Nazca

Many centuries ago, a mysterious culture known as the Nazca used small pebbles to design enormous drawings (some measuring up to 900 feet long) on the deserts of southern Peru. Their legacy remained unnoticed, veiled by their vast size and the simplicity of the techniques used, until the incredulous passengers of a commercial flight spotted them back in 1927. You will see them too: The hummingbird, the pelican, the spider, the lizard, the monkey, and, as many others before you, you will be puzzled and immediately overwhelmed by questions about their ultimate meaning: Landing strips for aliens, a giant seismograph, an astronomic calendar…we'll probably have to wait until excavations in the nearby archaeological site of Cahuachi unveil a definite explanation to the riddle. In the meantime, marvel at the works of the ancients and then ponder their meaning while you indulge into superb Peruvian cuisine, pisco, and exquisite accommodations at a reconverted hacienda.

The Sacred Valley

The magical Sacred Valley extends from the Inca village of Pisac to the fortress of Ollantaytambo. Eerie ruins dot a fertile landscape of patterned fields, harvest terraces, and colorful orchards, where locals still live in hamlets where time came to a stop centuries ago. Buzzing markets sit astride tradition and the call of modernity, with locals silently bartering produce in their native Quechua language and avid sellers shouting textiles, handcrafts and pottery to enthusiastic travelers. After a full day of explorations, evenings are spent in cozy hotel lounges, trading stories by the warmth of a cracking fireplace or marveling at the starry sky.

It was both a center of worship and astronomic observatory as well as the private retreat of the family of Inca ruler Pachacutec. We will reach Machu Picchu after a fascinating trek over the final stretch of the fabled Inca Trail. Watch the citadel from the Sun Gate and then descend for a guided visit to Machu Picchu. Return to Cuzco is on the afternoon of our second day aboard the Vistadome train.

Baroque buildings were erected over Inca foundations giving rise to a cultural blending, which has left us priceless architectural monuments and pieces of art: The Korikancha Palace survives concealed behind the façade of the Santo Domingo Monastery; the Cathedral displays exquisite paintings from native artists; in the San Blas District, colonial churches share popularity with masterworks of Inca masonry; Plaza de Armas thrives with the bustling activity of countless street vendors underneath colonial arcades.

Situated on the shores of Lake Titicaca, this ancient city is considered the cradle of the Aymara civilization and the legendary birthplace of the founders of the Inca Empire. It is also the natural gateway to Lake Titicaca and all its natural and cultural wonders. On Sunday departures, the journey through the Andes will be by deluxe motorcoach.

Puno

Suasi is a remote, private island situated in the middle of Lake Titicaca. It is a magical, and for many, mystical place to disconnect from the world. With well-appointed but appealingly rustic rooms, a candlelit gourmet restaurant, and an Andean spa, the lodge is a perfect hideaway to relax and contemplate the beauty of nature and the tranquil pace of life of local dwellers. Spot rare vicuñas, hike to Itapilluni Hill to admire colorful high-altitude sunsets, paddle a canoe around the island, go on quiet nature walks, or visit the earthy spa for massages and steam saunas with eucalyptus leaves.
